What are YOU doing New Year's Eve?

Unlike many people I'm not going to use the last post of 2008 to review the year's highlights. Most of it's there for anyone interested enough to scroll back and read.  Suffice to say that 2008 was substantially better than 2007 (indeed it would be hard for it NOT to be) and I have high hopes for 2009.

I've been running around and having fun with friends I don't see very often (more on that another day), but although I love 'em dearly, the New Years Eve bar scene is just not for me anymore.  So after an active day I was happy to wish them a good evening out on the town, and head back to my tiny apartment for a quiet New Year's Eve at home.  I have a stack of DVDs, warm flannel pajamas, wine & tasty snacks, and if I get real wild I might even bake some cookies and paint my toenails. Damn near perfect.

So what are you doing New Year's Eve?

Paint your toenails! That's just crazy talk! ;) Us? Quiet evening at home, Chinese food, a little internet, a little knitting, maybe a movie. Per my usual modus operandi, I will probably be asleep before midnight. Happy New Year to you and I hope you have a great 2009!

Same here, with the quiet night at home.

Thank you for a year's worth of entertaining and interesting blog posts, chickie!

It's hard to believe we actually met at the Stitches West ravelry party that rainy night 10 months ago.

The time has flown, and it's been wonderful getting to know you through your blog.

Here's to 2009 being even better!

I had a quiet evening at home too! Alex and I had some nice but easy food, and then played on the Wii until midnight, when we went out to our balcony to see the fireworks (it was so cold!). Asleep before 1!

A very quiet evening was had here, too. I snagged a movie download from Amazon, broke out the chocolates and completely missed the transition to '09!

A perfect night, IMHO. Happy New Year!!

I spent a very nice evening at home with DVD's my friend, AS, made for me of Christmas movies. The liquor store closed early so I didn't have anyone outside disturbing me. I stayed up long enough to watch the ball drop and then it was bedtime for me.

I have enjoyed spending 2008 with you and look forward to an even better 2009 for both of us. Blessed be. xxoo

Knitting, wine, videos. I realized a long time ago that I'd much rather just be home on New Year's.
